Scope for this high-end medical facility in the landmarked Trinity Building included an electrical infrastructure upgrade and the build-out of office space, patient facilities, and consultation and exam rooms. The project included extensive millwork, including metal and glass details. Construction of an ornate waiting area incorporated fine stone, metal and bamboo finishes. NYU Langone

Montefiore Medical Center Center for Diagnostic Medicine Healthcare/Life Sciences Montefiore Medical Center Center for Diagnostic Medicine Project Info Project Info Montefiore Medical Center Center for Diagnostic Medicine Montefiore Medical Center engaged Cauldwell Wingate to undertake Construction Management services for their planned Center for Diagnostic Medicine, an adaptive reuse project totaling 100,000sf. At present, preconstruction is completed. The Center for Diagnostic Medicine will include a sophisticated and highly advanced laboratory program with an Electron Microscope, a Microbiology Lab, a Surgical Pathology Lab and a Molecular Infectious Disease Lab. Substantial infrastructure upgrades, including HVAC with stainless steel ductwork for exhaust, increased electric capacity and specialized plumbing equipment are required to support the busy laboratory. GEORGE BRAUN VICE PRESIDENT & CORPORATE SAFETY OFFICER Mr. Braun is an experienced professional serving as Corporate Safety Officer and member of the Executive Committee. With a comprehensive background in construction safety, he proactively plans and administers safety policies and procedures helping maintain a high level of compliance. His responsibilities require that he perform educational training and on-site inspections, heightening project staff safety awareness. Mr. Braun provides leadership to the companies Injury & Illness Prevention Program (I2P2), utilizing innovative solutions to proactively stem incidents before they occur. He plans and implements safety and health educational training programs tailored to each team member, and develops best practices to reduce injury risk and raise safety awareness. As Chairperson of the Safety Committee, he mentors operations leaders throughout the company and is responsible for recruiting and training all lead safety staff. His duties further require regular interface with insurance carriers, various regulatory authorities, client representatives, and subcontractors on jobsite safety and health matters. Among other duties are staying abreast of safety trends, policies, standards and regulations, record keeping, and in general, assuring that Cauldwell Wingate maintains its reputation as a leading practitioner of safety in the construction workplace. He occasionally serves as an adjunct safety instructor helping those in New York City construction industry comply with the recently enacted suite of safety training regulations. Mr. Braun is a licensed Professional Engineer. These rooms will include new headwalls, bathrooms and isolated HVAC systems allowing WHMC to provide premium care for high risk patients. The work is taking place in highly sensitive areas such as the intensive care unit requiring a high level of Infectious Control Protection adding to an already difficult and complicated job. Cauldwell Wingate was also awarded a project at the same facility to install a new QleanAir containment unit for their Pharmacy, which will provide the hospital with a completely controlled cleanroom solution for their pharmaceutical needs. These projects are first steps WHMC is taking to make itself one of New York’s premier healthcare facilities. Wyckoff Heights

LISA VILLASMIL Chief People Officer Lisa Villasmil joined Cauldwell Wingate in 2015 and currently serves as the Chief People Officer. Villasmil holds a Bachelors in Business Management from Iona College Hagan School of Business and an Advanced Certificate in Strategic HR Management from Cornell University ILR School. She holds the Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM‐CP) credential and is in the process of completing the Academy to Innovate HR, Strategic HR Leadership Certificate. Villasmil is also a member of The International Society of Female Professionals, The Women Builders Council and The Professional Women in Construction NY Chapter. She is also the proud recipient of the WBC award for Outstanding Women in 2021 and 2023. Mrs. Villasmil brings a wealth of business experience to Cauldwell, having managed human resources as well as compliance and auditing in a legal environment. In addition, she has run her own entrepreneurial venture for several years. She has extensive employee relations, human resources, and compliance policy experience. Mrs. Villasmil truly enjoys the HR role because she believes putting people first in an organization, and recognizing their efforts, yields extraordinary results.
