Hospital Generator: Cauldwell Wingate oversaw the installation of a new generator at Lenox Hill Hospital, including fuel oil riser, structural enhancements, and protection measures. 5th Takeoff (New Electrical Service): Cauldwell Wingate acted as the Construction Manager for a new electrical service vault, ConEd Vault tie-ins, and electrical system installations with coordination through existing pharmacy facilities. This 30,000sf project included the construction of new exam rooms, isolation rooms, CT and x-ray equipment, staff locker areas, emergency room entrance, and mechanical air distribution equipment. Significant phased make-ready work necessitated strict adherence to scheduling. As the emergency department was expanded and renovated while maintaining fully operational, 24-hour medical services, extensive infection control programs and coordination were implemented to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and the public. The project was a build-out of a chemical synthesis lab and optical physics laboratories. The scope consisted of the gut renovation of existing facilities including the installation of high-precision self-leveling lab tables, fume hoods, casework, extensive lab gases and water hookups, showers and emergency eyewash areas, and safety monitoring devices for the state-of-the-art research facility. In addition, extensive infrastructure was required to support the lab and maintain ongoing operation of adjacent animal laboratories including new rooftop exhaust and customized air handling equipment, heat exchangers and electrical risers. New York Structural Biology Center Healthcare/Life Sciences New York Structural Biology Center Project Info Project Info New York Structural Biology Center Cauldwell Wingate, acted as the Construction Manager for a state-of-the-art research imaging facility located on the City College campus in Upper Manhattan. The facility was a collaborative project among nine prestigious biomedical research institutions. It houses a Cryogenic Electron Microscope suite, laboratories, administrative offices, and advanced NMR spectroscopy instruments. We successfully addressed the challenge of shielding sensitive instruments by strategically locating the center and creating vacuum-like spaces. Scope of work includes the renovation of the entranceway and the addition of an elevator and staircase. The staircase leads to the newly-created Command Center, which will be used for urgent communication and teleconferencing. Academy of Mount Saint Ursula Healthcare/Life Sciences Academy of Mount Saint Ursula Project Info Project Info Academy of Mount Saint Ursula The Academy of Mount Saint Ursula High School retained Cauldwell Wingate as General Contractor for the phased construction of new science laboratories. Phase I required the construction of temporary science laboratories to accommodate programming requirements while the new labs were under construction. Phase II of the project included the gut-renovation of existing lab spaces, including new laboratory millwork, gas and water hookups, showers, and emergency eyewash areas. In addition, the laboratories were outfitted with new exteriors windows and casings. Protection and safety programs were designed to accommodate working in an occupied setting, and all work was coordinated with school officials to minimize disruptions to ongoing school operations.
