Cauldwell Wingate currently serves as construction manager for the September 11th Tribute Visitors Center project located adjacent to the Ground Zero site. The 10,000 square foot project incorporates a complete storefront and interior renovation of two floors that will be used to house for both permanent and temporary exhibition spaces. The Center is the first memorial for victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks and was designed by the September 11th Families Association who recognized the need for a special place where those closely affected by the events of 9/11 could share stories of the people, action, heroism, courage and loss, grief and hope. Cauldwell Wingate is honored to have participated in this important project for New York City.
Cauldwell Wingate was honored to manage the 30,000 square foot renovation of The Dahesh Museum of Art, located at 580 Madison Avenue. The museum exhibits works by 19th and early 20th century artists. Cauldwell Wingate constructed all new mechanical and electrical systems so that it maintains constant temperature and humidity, an essential component in the preservation of its collection. The gallery now features an extensive installation of bamboo floors, cabinetry and portals as well as a sophisticated custom lighted ceiling grid. The renovation has resulted in one of New York City’s finest cultural centers.
Cauldwell Wingate provided pre-construction services and a four phase infrastructure and tenant improvement program for the Directors Guild of America, an organization that represents more than 12,000 members in theatrical, industrial and educational films and television. Cauldwell Wingate began its four phase project including infrastructure upgrades, renovations for multiple floors of office space, overhaul of a 429-seat theater and new bathrooms, lobbies, windows and a roof garden.
The Alliance of Resident Theaters, a non-profit organization of 30 theater companies retained Cauldwell Wingate as the General Contractor for the complete renovation of unique office spaces inhabited by its 30 members. The 40,000 square foot space located at 520 8th Avenue was completely gutted and now includes sound insulated suites, work stations and acoustically balanced performing areas. The project also included the installation of an extensive communication system for each separate theater group. Cauldwell Wingate adhered to the standards of several public funding streams including the NYC Economic Development Corporation.
