Rallye Motors retained Cauldwell Wingate as Construction Manager for the high-end motor company’s advanced, 52-bay, BMW showroom and service center. Construction included additions and modifications to the center’s existing service building. This complex construction assignment required that building services be linked to exterior connection points of the existing building through underground trenches. Interior construction elements included upgrades to the electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, demolition and reconfiguration of the first floor service center.
Cauldwell Wingate provided base building upgrades for 60 Broad Street, including resurfacing of all perimeter and core walls on 11 full floors in preparation for a future tenant installation. New structural steel and concrete was furnished for restoration of the structural assembly and extensive floor preparation was necessary throughout all 11 floors. The building’s existing cooling tower was modified to a 24-hour, 365-day operation for the tenant's computer facilities and installations included stainless steel cell pans, electronically operated heating units and new crossover isolation valves.
277 Park Avenue is an imposing 50-story steel frame and metal deck structure with a curtain wall facade and a granite plaza. Cauldwell Wingate's construction services for the block-long building included the dismantlement of the 5-story steel frame and glass atrium, a new plaza on Park Avenue, comprehensive lobby renovation including asbestos abatement and demolition, replacement of 5-stories of windows and curtain wall and a major mechanical upgrade program to base building systems. The lobby was demolished and renovated in a three-phase operation with new elevator lobbies and tunnel corridors. Cauldwell Wingate also constructed two concierge desks for two different building operations systems on the Park Avenue side, and a third on the Lexington Avenue side with coordinating finishes.
